First Class Web - New

FirstClass is the UCO's main means of communication with students and staff concerning day-to-day organisation and for information that is of immediate or short-term, relevance.  FirstClass provides electronic noticeboard facilities to all staff and students.  This permits notices relevant to specific groups to be posted electronically, and for these to be flagged up to users as soon as they login to FirstClass.  FirstClass can be accessed via a variety of methods:  via a Web browser, different interfaces for iPhone and iPad, a different interface for Android devices and via the Firstlass Client program itself, which can be installed on Macs, PCs or Linux computers.

The Web interface to FirstClass offers many new features that are not available via any other interface into FirstClass ( but on the other hand does not offer some of the features that are available via other ways of accessing FirstClass).  This way of using FirstClass allows you to setup your own Profile, to set and modify your "status", to choose to follow specific other FirstClass Users or Conferences, and to write your own Blog.  Tutorials on how to use the new Web interface are available at:  http://intranet.bso.ac.uk/FC12Videos-CT/

This NEW FirstClass Web interface is designed to work only with Web Browsers that support HTML5 on a Desktop or Laptop computer:

Internet Explorer 10 and above
Safari 6 and above
Firefox 16 and above
Chrome 22 and above
Opera 12 and above

If you do have one of these browsers ( or newer ) available to you, you can access the new Web Interface from:

Note 1:  The new web interface offers secure, encrypted, communication, and must, therefore, be accessed via https://

Note 2:  It will not work with older browsers as it relies upon new technology that was not available on older browsers.  If you do have the software needed to make use of the new FirstClass Web interface, you will find introductory YouTube video tutorials, under the "Basics" Category within the FirstClass 12 Video Tutorials link that displays when you login to the new Web interface.
